5 Glamorous Experiences in Abu Dhabi

It’s been years since my first visit to the UAE. When my good friend received the opportunity to move to Abu Dhabi, I was delighted! I normally do not rate airlines but let me say Emirates Airlines is the way to go! They offer both business and a luxury first class unparalleled to most airlines. For travelers in all classes comfort and detail are not overlooked. Having flown with a multitude of airlines I have to say all details from the blankets, pillows, movies and best of all food were impeccable!

1. SHEIK ZAYED MOSQUE

The First stop on my trip was the marvelous Sheik Zayed Mosque. This architectural superstar is the pride of Abu Dhabi. Its pristine all-white alabaster-like design is an architectural fantasy realized. Regality meets sacredness is its best description. I recommend both the daytime and evening (sunset) tours!

2. Visit Emirates Palace & Drink 24k Gold!

From gold facials to gold face masks, gold has become quite the beauty phenomenon. How about drinking gold? You can do just that by experiencing high tea also called f “Royal Tea”  at Emirates Palace. Not only is the experience beautiful, you get a 2-for-1 as royal tea takes place in the former home of Sheik Zayed Mohammed, Emirates Palace. Indulge in tea and walk around sighseeing the regal palace.

3. snag gorgeous items for a fraction of the $

Souvenirs: Time spent abroad is often remembered by pictures and souvenirs. For my fellow tea lovers + girls who love pretty things, check out these gorgeous finds. When visiting Dubai or Abu Dhabi grab these gems at any local mall or bazaar.

4. BEAUTY

Middle Eastern beauty is famous for Arabic eyes or dramatic winged eyeliner. One cannot leave the UAE without snagging Black Kajal Eyeliner. You can find this at any local bazaar or beauty supply store.

5. Eat at a local restaurant

For authentic local food try Happy Yemen. The UAE is known for its vast array of spices. Not only is the food well-seasoned, but it’s fresh. This is not your typical local grocery brand of meat. Freshness and tenderness make for a mouthwatering experience. Unique to Happy Yemen, is its option of traditional Arabic dining. The second floor offers private rooms. Dining consists of floor seating, surrounded by pillows with platter style servings. Check it out!
